It takes place March 31 to April 6 in 2025 and March 30 to April 5 in 2026.
In 2025 the Regatta will celebrate its 52nd year. It’s an especially vibrant and exciting time in the BVI with plenty of people (tourists and locals), entertainment and sailing.
Nanny Cay, one of the world’s premier marinas and just a 15 – 20-minute drive from St Bernard’s Hill House, is home to the Regatta Village and the race starting points.
The schedule usually follows the same format:
Monday – Registration
Tuesday – Round Tortola Race for the Nanny Cay Cup
As you might expect from the name, this is a race around the whole of Tortola, the largest island in the BVI.
It’s 35 nautical miles and a fun, full day of racing followed by awards at the Regatta Village.
Wednesday – Scrub Island Invitational
In this one-way, exciting morning race, teams sail from Nanny Cay up Sir Francis Drake Channel to the Scrub Island Resort.
You’ll pass Salt Island, Cooper Island and Ginger Island during the 15 nautical mile course, and arrive at a party with beach barbecue, pool, and live music.
Thursday – Lay Day
Lay Day is a chance for you and your crew to rest and recharge before three solid days of racing.
You could explore Tortola on land and visit one of the island’s gorgeous beaches. Or you may simply wish to enjoy the serenity of St Bernard’s Hill House’s mountain-top location and panoramic views.
Friday to Sunday – Race Days
Each day of racing is followed by evening entertainment in the Regatta Village.
After the final day of racing on Sunday, the Regatta closes with a prize giving ceremony and party.
As well as sailing, you can experience typical BVI culture and entertainment.
In the Regatta Village, there are performances by Moko Jumbies – stilt walkers dancers whose origins can be traced back to West Africa, local bands playing fungi – the folk music of the BVI, and the BVI Heritage Dancers.
Art also forms part of the cultural celebrations, with an exhibition of maritime art by local artists.
The BVI Spring Regatta offers exciting, enjoyable sailing, friendly yet intense competition, and plenty of entertainment.
But when you’ve had your fill of the crowds and party atmosphere, St Bernard’s Hill House is waiting for you.
Set atop one of the highest points of Tortola, the exclusive-use property offers a luxurious escape and private oasis from the hubbub of the Regatta.
You can tend to sore muscles with a soak in the heated, saltwater infinity pool, a stretch in the gym, or a sports massage in The Main Villa’s Treatment Room. (We can organize massage therapists and specialist treatments for you.)
Come together for post-race analysis and pre-race tactic and strategy sessions on the expansive terrace, enjoying views over the North shore and towards Jost Van Dyke.
And when you’ve worked up an appetite after a day on deck, enjoy a well-earned, delicious dinner and handmade cocktails prepared by your private chef.
Finally, retire to your rooms for a blissful night’s sleep so you wake up refreshed and ready for another day of amazing sailing.
During the Regatta, St Bernard’s Hill House can accommodate up to 12 people.
Four of the suites (The Orchid Villa, The Allamanda Villa 1 & 2, and The Palm Villa) can be converted so they sleep two crew members in individual beds. The Master Suite in The Master Villa remains as one king-sized bed.
The BVI Spring Regatta is a very busy and popular time of year. Early booking is essential.
